Anamaria Marinca, a Romanian-born actress. Her screen debut was with Sex Traffic, a Channel 4 film for which she was awarded the British Academy Television Award as Best Actress. French, German English fluently. Her father is the theater professor for one of Romania's finest theater schools. At the Mangalia Gala for Young Actors, she won the Best Female Actor Award 2000. The award was given to her as an European Shooting Star by the European Film Promotion Board in the year 2008. An actress with Romanian descendance, Anamaria Marinca made her debut on the screen through the Canadian-British TV drama Sex Traffic for which she won the British Academy Television Award for Best Actress. Apart from her stellar performance in her debut film she will also remain in the memory of her role of the Romanian film "4 months 3 weeks 2 days" which won her numerous accolades, among them the European Film Award of Best Actress from the London Film Critics. In 2007, she starred in the Romanian film 4 luni 3 semaines si 2 days (4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days) by Cristian Mungiu. The film was awarded the Palme d'Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and two other awards (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System and the FIPRESCI award). She also appeared in the Francis Ford Coppola film Youth Without Youth. In 2008, she played Yasim in BBC's Five-Episode The Last Enemy. Marinca played the role of Yasim Anwar on Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven, and also the Romanian film Boogie. She later had a prominent performance in the 2014 film Fury in which she portrayed the role of a German woman who was named Irma Aunt of Emma.
