Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero (born Patricia Apollonia Kotero) is an American performer, actress and model. She was a model for a while before becoming an actress. She was the lead female vocalist for Apollonia 6 and co-starred in Prince's film Purple Rain from 1984. Apollonia was given the title of an actress and singer by Prince. In the '80s she was among several other performers who gained from Prince. Patricia Kotero, born 1959 in Santa Monica California began her career as an actress and model. In the late 70s she was a guest on CHiPS. The female lead of Prince's Purple Rain was her first performance in 1984. Prince changed the girl's name in this period. She replaced Vanity with the female trio Vanity 6 who performed in the film as Apollonia 6 replacing Vanity. Sex Shooter, the group's minor smash hit in the film's soundtrack, was her greatest chart hit. Kotero was able to break up with Prince after the two fell out over the future of Apollonia 6. She then appeared in a handful of minor movies during the 80s (reportedly declining an opportunity to play in the follow-up to Purple Rain Under the Cherry Moon) and then settled on an evening-time part in the dramatic Falcon Crest in 1985-1986. Apollonia had the opportunity to make her debut album available in the year 1988. However, the album did not leave an lasting impression on fans of music and soon faded from the scene. She continued acting (if somewhat unnoticed) during the subsequent decade. Small TV appearances as well as minor film roles as well as exercise videos kept her full of work.
