Awkwafina

Awkwafina started out as an American performer and rapper, performing sly tunes that dealt with questions of race and sexual identity with a comedic twist. In the years before she stepped into Hollywood, she was able to release a number of songs. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants, was her first music experience. She was a trumpet player. The classical, jazz, and hip-hop studies began when she was a teenager. In her studies, she studied journalism as well as women's studies at college, even taking classes in Mandarin in Beijing for a time. After graduating, it wasn't until when she decided to turn her attention on music. The song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity through the Internet in the year 2012. The track was later included in her first album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. On the album, there were other viral hits including Queef (body-positive) as well as NYC Bitchethe cost of $. This latter song was directly connected to Awkwafina's NYC, a 2015 travel guide. As a musician and an author on her resume she determined to pursue an actor for a third venture. Apart from the early television programs like Girl Code and Tawk, she has also been featured in films like Neighbors2Storks as well as Bad Rap. In the year 2018, her breakout role was in Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she released the EP in Fina We Trust.
